Think back to a man you watched when you were a kid. Your dad, an uncle, a coach. You didn’t learn how to be a man from anything he said. You learned it from what he did, and you copied it without even knowing.
Here’s what I’ve been thinking about. Somewhere along the line the camera turned around. We’re not that boy anymore. We’re the man somebody else is watching now.
Most of us treat our midlife work as private. The health, the marriage, the back half of life. This episode is about why none of it stays private, and the standard we’re setting for the men coming up behind us without saying a word.
